G'day, we at Outback Timbers are woodworkers ourselves, actually specialist Box and Tool Makers.

No being satisfied with the range of Hardwoods available to us at the time, mostly being Eucalypti, yeah they're strong and tough alright but many lack sufficient pizzazz, lets face it in the main just plain boring.

Some time ago we started using Gigee, Western Myall, then Mulga, Desert Rosewood, Lancewood and as our interest grew and our trips became wide and more adventurous we started finding new sources and new reserves.

To that end we believed that there would be others out there that could and would like the opportunity to use these under estimated resources in their work adding not only beauty but also providing that point of difference from all the other regular Aussie timbers that abound. The Silky Oaks, Red Cedars, Tassie Oak and Blackwood brigade.

It is our intention over the coming months to provide small amount of these timbers in small section for sale.
The majority of timber will have been air dried and seasoned while an very small amount may be kiln dried.

Because of the nature of the timber, that is the sizes of the trees no large boards will be available.

Most lengths will vary between 750mm to 200mm in lenght and from 200mm to 50mm in width, thicknesses will vary with finished machined sizes from 25mm to 6mm.

Rough saw pieces will also be available with actual sizes listed for each individual piece with accompanying photo.
